Crumbs of Grace: A Night Blessing for the Faith That Will Not Let Go
A night blessing, then. For you. For the one who carries
their ark like a grocery bag, wondering if the Levites ever got tired of the
same old shoulders.
May you sleep like the woman at the well—not because you
have all the answers, but because you finally stopped hauling the waterpot. You
left it there. Good. It was heavy, and the Messiah was thirsty anyway.
May you remember that the Lord has chosen you to
carry something. Not because you're qualified. Not because you're holy. Because
He said so. And He doesn't take it back. That's the irony of grace: it picks
the least likely, the tired, the ones who smell faintly of doubt—and says, Forever.
You. Yes, you.
And may you have the holy nerve of that Canaanite woman. The
one who wouldn't shut up. The one the disciples wanted to shoo away like a
stray. May you be that stubborn. May you argue with the silence and call it
prayer. May you hear the hard word—dog—and turn it into a compliment. Even
the dogs eat the crumbs. The crumbs. That's all it takes. A crumb of grace
is a feast when you're starving. And you are. We all are.
So sleep now, little dog at the Master's table. Sleep like
you belong there. Because you do.
And if you wake in the dark, remember: the One who speaks to
you is not a stranger. He is the I AM. He is the Messiah. He is the bread you
didn't earn and the water you didn't draw.
May your night be gentle. May your dreams be light. May you
rest in the ridiculous, stubborn, crumb-scattering love of a God who chooses
the unlikely, feeds the unworthy, and never, ever lets go.
Amen.
Sim,
você.
E que você
tenha a santa ousadia daquela mulher cananeia.
As migalhas.
agora, cachorrinho à mesa do Mestre. Durma como quem pertence ali. Porque você
pertence.
